What...

...do I do?

As someone who’s spent much of my career in the innovation space, I’ve come to understand that the secret sauce for success lies in not just the ideas, but the process that brings them to life. My track record speaks for itself in turning complex concepts into common-use technologies that have a tangible impact. But, what truly excites me is how we get from idea to execution, creating an ecosystem where innovation can flourish, gain traction, and scale sustainably. Below, I’ll dive into the key services I offer, each one designed to make innovation feel less like a buzzword and more like a reality.

1. Building Innovation Programmes that Actually Deliver!

Innovation isn’t a one-size-fits-all model, and anyone who tells you otherwise is missing the point. It’s about finding that sweet spot where change isn’t just talked about but is felt at all levels. My approach is structured but flexible, designed to ensure that the programme not only excites the stakeholders but also delivers measurable results.

I begin by testing the waters early with the core stakeholders, ensuring we have the right appetite and alignment before diving in. This early-stage engagement allows for a smooth flow as we progress through multi-iterative scoping and finding. From understanding the deep needs of all involved to setting realistic expectations, every step of the process is designed to keep the momentum going without losing sight of the bigger picture.

The key is that the programme is not just about setting up a pipeline of potential projects, but about creating a living, breathing process that the team can feel ownership of. By the time we get to the stage of mapping out initiatives, it’s not just about ticking boxes—it’s about putting together something that will truly drive change and support strategic goals across the board.

Throughout the journey, my focus is on securing buy-in from key stakeholders, and this is where my experience in managing complex relationships comes into play. My ability to articulate and socialise ideas across multiple groups ensures alignment and drives collaboration. And the result? A solid innovation working group, a well-balanced programme, and a set of projects that will not only achieve the desired impact but also build long-term value.

2. Vetting New-Ways-to-Work Opportunities into Business-as-Usual

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is being able to source, evaluate, and help integrate emerging technologies into industries that often operate with a “business-as-usual” mindset. The world of emerging technology is full of promise, but it can also be overwhelming, especially for industries like construction, mining, advanced manufacturing and engineering, where the stakes are high and the tolerance for risk is low. That’s where my expertise comes in.

By leveraging my extensive network of innovators, advocates, and real-world users, I bring together the right players to assess the potential of emerging technologies. This network is crucial for identifying not just what’s on the horizon but what’s ready to make an impact today. My ability to evaluate market readiness and scalability ensures that the technologies I champion are not just cool ideas but solutions that can be adopted into day-to-day operations with minimal disruption.

And it doesn’t stop at finding opportunities. I’m deeply involved in market vetting, looking for the gaps in offerings and aligning them with industry needs. This isn't about forcing a technology into a space where it doesn’t belong—it’s about finding the right fit that can make a real difference. The result is that businesses can confidently move forward with technologies that are ready for integration, ensuring not only innovation but also practical application.

3. Facilitating Traction and Scale-Up Opportunities

Once a technology is in play, the next challenge is helping it gain traction and scale efficiently. Many innovations stumble here because they don’t align with the practical realities of market demands or because they struggle to prove their credibility. I work with emerging opportunities to ensure they overcome these hurdles and gain the momentum they need to succeed in the Australian and Asia-Pacific (AusPac) regions.

In my experience, traction isn’t just about getting a few early adopters on board; it’s about aligning the technology with the pain points of the industry and creating a clear path for adoption. My work in Heavy Industries, for example, has been pivotal in introducing and scaling new technologies within an industry that’s often slow to change. But once that initial hurdle is cleared, the results speak for themselves. By aligning the technology with the industry’s business-as-usual requirements, I help ensure that scaling doesn’t just happen—it happens efficiently and effectively.

Additionally, my deep involvement in Australia’s internationally respected Heavy Industries means that I can leverage this credibility to help these technologies build a solid reputation. A technology that’s adopted in the Heavy Industries, for example, can then easily scale to other industries, thanks to the strong foundation laid during the adoption process.

4. Drive Technology, Commercial, Financial & Industry Readiness

Innovation doesn’t happen in a vacuum, and achieving long-term success requires more than just a great idea or technology—it requires hands-on involvement, coaching, and business advisory at every level of Technology, Commercial, Financial & Industry Readiness. This is where I step in with direct business input. Whether it’s helping a startup find its footing or guiding an established company through a transformation, I provide the support necessary to move from concept to execution.

I take a deeply participatory approach, embedding myself in the companies and innovation programmes I work with. This allows me to offer insights that go beyond theoretical advice and instead provide actionable guidance based on real-world challenges. By staying closely connected with the day-to-day workings of a business, I can identify where adjustments need to be made, support leadership through tough decisions, and ensure that every team member feels empowered to contribute to the company’s growth and operational goals.

Ultimately, my role is to provide the resources and knowledge necessary for companies to not just survive but thrive. Whether that’s through coaching, strategic direction, or hands-on operational support, I’m there every step of the way to ensure the business achieves its fullest potential.

These four services—designing and launching innovation programmes, assessing emerging technologies, facilitating scale-up opportunities, and providing direct business input—are about making innovation tangible. They’re not just buzzwords or flashy concepts; they’re about real, sustainable change that can be seen, felt, and experienced. If you’re looking for someone who not only understands how to drive innovation but has a proven track record of doing it successfully, then let’s chat.
